We are an independent financial recruitment specialist that places Accounting and Finance professionals into Permanent, Contract and Temporary jobs. We are based in Surrey and have been incorporated since 1999. As a small company with less than 10 employees, we feel a sense of community locally, but also have a sense of our responsibilities in the wider community. We want to ensure that our actions are responsible, fully compliant with both the law and best working practices and that trading with us is a positive experience for our candidates, clients, suppliers and for the environment. Because we recognise that our impact is limited by our size, this document is not intended to be long, complex or exhaustive, but instead ought to be taken as our commitment to behaving in a responsible manner and as our own point of reference to ensure we are mindful of our impact in everything that we do.
The Environment
We will ensure our actions protect the environment by:
- Complying with environmental legislation.
- Keep our company’s waste material to a minimum and ensure it is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
- Minimise our contribution to pollution of our atmosphere.
- Discuss ways in which we might improve our environmental impact at staff meetings.
- Ensure our business policies and processes are mindful of any environmental impact.
- Review, improve and update both our practices and this document at least annually.
Equal Opportunities
We want our workplace to provide equal opportunities for staff regardless of their ethnic or national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, or disability. Our employment decisions will be made without regard to these criteria. This will be both in satisfaction of current legislation and, where possible we will go further than the letter of the law.
In our dealings with third party clients we expect them to also adhere to these principles. Our staff are expected to report issues of discrimination or suspected discrimination in the way our clients behave during their recruitment activities, whether intentionally or otherwise, and whether such discrimination is direct or indirect. We will:
- Undertake to raise our concerns with our client in cases where we suspect discrimination.
- Ensure that our candidate selections are made using non-discriminatory criteria.
- When taking a client instruction, assess whether every effort has been made to include disabled persons in the selection process.
- Rigorously ensure that job specifications and advertisements only lay down selection criteria that are essential for the effective performance of the job and do not limit applications without good (and compliant) reason.
- Provide ourselves (Directors and Staff alike) with adequate training and knowledge to ensure we are aware of our obligations as regards Equal Opportunities.
